Overview

Carried out as part of the AMEY/UU alliance framework agreement Cara were contracted to carry out the emergency control of a 700 dia. Rising main FW sewer and subsequent repair. The existing sewer was found to be leaking directly into the River Irwell causing serious environmental issues. Cara assisted in the installation of circa 600mts of overland 600mm temporary pump main through an area of natural beauty. The new main was placed across the River Irwell and subsequent chambers constructed. An extensive reinstatement landscape package was carried out to bring the park back to its original beauty. Control of all specialist contractor’s was appointed and managed by CCL.
