The Omega West Unit 4 project is a major £28M industrial and logistics development, covering a vast 420,000 sq. ft of space for McLaren Construction.
On January 28th of this year, we took delivery of one of the two separator tanks required for the project. This impressive 7.5-tonne tank, with a 230,000-litre capacity, was offloaded using a precise tandem lift by excavator, following a detailed task-specific Lift Plan.
Over the coming weeks, the tank will be installed with the help of a 150T crane, as part of Cara’s £4.5M groundworks package with Omega. This comprehensive package includes the installation of over 160 concrete foundations, dock levellers, drainage systems, ducting, kerbing, and 19,000 m² of external concrete slabs. With all this set to be completed by May 2025, it’s an exciting milestone in the progress of this high-profile project.
