Vita Student Village, York

Cara Brickwork was chosen to build the Brickwork & blockwork on new £50m Vita Student Accommodation Development in York for Wates Construction.

Located within the grounds of the former Grade II listed St. Josephs Convent on Lawrence Street, the ‘student village’ consists of 644nr bedrooms comprising off 15nr new 3 and 4 storey accommodation blocks.

Additional work on the 6.5 acre site included substantial Heritage work to 3nr existing listed Convent Buildings and external walls that required a sympathic approach in keeping with the long history of the site, with the use of traditional methods and materials.

Work was successfully completed on time and handed over in September 2017.
