𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝟭𝟮 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗰 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 (𝗖𝗥𝗬) 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝘃 💙

Raising Awareness Week for @cardiacriskintheyoung runs from Saturday, November 23rd to Sunday, December 1st. Each year, CRY highlights the devastating statistic that 12 young people aged 14 to 34 lose their lives to sudden cardiac death every week.

Neil Allen, a director at Cara Brickwork, is taking part in this year’s campaign in honour of his daughter, Olivia, who tragically passed away from this condition. Olivia was just 19 years old.

Described as a loving and compassionate young woman, Olivia had a way of making everyone around her feel valued. Her creativity and warmth touched the lives of so many, and though her time was heartbreakingly short, her legacy continues to inspire.

A light has gone out, but what remains is the precious memory of how brightly it shone and the warmth it gave.

To support CRY’s vital work, Neil has committed to walking 12 miles in one day this coming Sunday. His route will take him from his home to Wirral Country Park in Thurstaston – a challenge reflecting the 12 lives lost each week to sudden cardiac death.

CRY’s Raising Awareness Week encourages everyone to take on their own 12-mile challenge – whether walking, running, cycling, or swimming. The distance can be completed in one go, across a few days, or throughout the week, allowing participants to show support in their own way.
