Cara Brickwork are pleased to announce that we are involved in an exciting project to tackle homelessness in Greater Manchester!
We will be supporting Vermont who have been appointed by Embassy with their remarkable scheme to provide a community of up to 40 high quality homes for homeless residents in the city.
‘Embassy village’ will have a town hall, a green space for sports and socialising, as well as an outdoor area for gardening. Cara’s role will be to build the blockwork to all the units.
Sid Williams the found of Embassy’s words on the project: “The village will help us re-imagine the way homelessness is tackled in the city, providing a long-term and sustainable solution. We’re creating a supportive community where we help our residents with work and get used to managing a home. This means we’ll be able to help four times as many people as we currently do.”
Cara MD – Neil Allen has met with Sid and discussed working closely with Embassy to also support some of their residents with further wrap around care, providing employment and further training to upskill and make work ready. We have already secured a position for one of the males who currently resides with them. The ambition being that Cara will go on to support more of the men throughout 2025.
Cara Group have a big social impact in Manchester and as part of this a team took part in ‘Greater Manchester Mayor’s charity bus pull’ in 2024. Where they raised £500 for homelessness initiatives across the city region.
