A Week of Engagement, Inspiration & Success at Cara!

by | Feb 17, 2025

Here at Cara, it’s been a busy and exciting week! We’ve attended several events to support our apprentices and connect with potential future employees. We’re delighted that our apprenticeship programme with KeyFix is going from strength to strength!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more details, but for now, take a look at some of the fantastic moments we captured.

Monday kicked things off with Liverpool Job’s Fair at the Central Library—what an incredible venue. A huge thank you to the City Council and Ingeus for organising such a great event.

Later that day, we attended the ‘Festival of Engineering and Construction’ at Wigan and Leigh College, joined by our brickwork apprentice Connor Marsh, who recently received the prestigious Stu Crompton Trowel award. It was inspiring to meet so many enthusiastic young people eager to start a career in construction.

Tuesday was another action-packed day as we welcomed Anthony Impey MBE to our site at Cheadle College. Anthony had set himself the challenge of meeting 100 businesses to discuss the obstacles of training and developing new talent. It was an honour to host him and share our insights with such an influential figure. A big thank you to Anthony and his team for taking the time to visit us.

On Wednesday, we headed to Hopwood Hall for an incredible open evening, this time joined by our groundworks apprentice Jack Ellam, who was recently named Level 2 Apprentice of the Year—what an achievement! We had the opportunity to network with suppliers and engage with many young people eager to explore apprenticeship opportunities with Cara.

Thursday evening, we had the pleasure of attending the Willmott Dixon Supply Chain Awards. Where we were absolutely thrilled to discover that Lennon Stoddard, one of our talented brickwork apprentices, won the Supply Chain Apprentice award! Lennon’s hard work and determination shines through every day on site, and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievement.

Friday, we explored an exciting opportunity to support young people in ‘taster sessions’ within construction. We met with Tom Cole from Salford Youth Service to discuss delivering hands on experience for local high schools across Salford. This initiative, in collaboration with Morgan Sindall, We Are Footprint, Connolly Scaffolding, Build Salford, and Procure Plus, will launch in March, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates and success stories in the coming weeks!
