Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week: Jayne Greaves Reflects on a Special Event

by | Mar 5, 2025

During National Apprenticeship Week, some of our colleagues had the opportunity to meet Anthony Impey MBE. We caught up with our Apprenticeship Coordinator, Jayne Greaves, to hear more about the event-

‘Just over a week ago, we were thrilled to be part of Anthony Impey’s ambitious journey organised through the Northwest Apprentice Ambassador Network —a grand tour spanning over 1,000 miles across six cities to connect with 100 small and midsize business leaders.

Not only did he reach his goal, but he exceeded it, meeting an impressive 110 business leaders in total!

Throughout his travels, Anthony encountered many inspiring individuals, heard remarkable stories of resilience, and learned how businesses are navigating today’s challenges by investing in skills, apprenticeships, and growth. He also gathered valuable insights on practical improvements that could encourage even more businesses to invest in these areas.

During his visit to our site, Anthony met with Neil Allen (MD, Cara Brickwork), Jayne Greaves (Apprentice Liaison Manager), and Rebecca Sutherland (Social Value Coordinator), along with Cara’s site team and our apprentices, Oscar Dennis and Lennon Stoddard. Together, they discussed business challenges and explored Cara’s ongoing commitment to apprenticeships through our FutureSkills programme, supported by Keyfix.’

A huge thank you to Anthony Impey for taking the time to visit—it was a truly valuable and successful meeting!
