CARA Group recently supported Wigan & Leigh Hospice through a volunteering day at the Robin Park Distribution Centre, reinforcing our commitment to community impact and social value in Wigan as we prepare to begin works with Willmott Dixon at Wigan & Leigh College.
Members of our brickwork team spent the day organising donations, assisting hospice staff and volunteers, contributing to the vital work that supports individuals and families across the borough.
As we prepare to commence construction activity on the Wigan & Leigh College project with Willmott Dixon, strengthening our presence in the borough through meaningful community engagement remains a key priority. Supporting valued charities like Wigan & Leigh Hospice ensures our delivery in Wigan goes beyond construction, creating real benefits for local people.
CARA is also working closely with Wigan & Leigh College and Wigan Youth Zone to explore new ways of engaging young people in the construction industry.
Looking ahead to the new year, CARA Group will also be supporting the launch of a mental health campaign across the site, ensuring that staff feel supported, connected and valued as part of our ongoing wellbeing strategy.
The volunteering day was a fantastic experience for the team filled with hard work, community spirit and even a few bargains picked up from the donation sorting process.
A huge thank you to the incredible team at Wigan & Leigh Hospice for welcoming us and for the inspiring work you do every day. We look forward to further collaboration as we continue to support the Wigan community.
