Central Square public realm successfully handed over by Cara Construction

Cara Construction has successfully handed over the public realm and internal courtyard to Wates Construction, on their prestigious Central Square project in Leeds.

Initially the scope of works included the supply and installation over 3,200m2 of high value granite paving, kerbs and steps, street furniture, new drainage and ducting, all after the removal of existing paving.

Further to this, Cara were asked to complete the S278 works and concrete toppings within the new internal courtyard.

This project proved to be challenging due to the constraints of a busy city centre site, limited access and other key trades within Cara’s work areas. However, with close co-ordination and continued communication with Wates, Cara were able to deliver the scheme to the timescales and quality required of the client.
