Last week, we proudly joined our fellow contractors and stakeholders to mark the groundbreaking ceremony at Grandidges Quay, Birkenhead. Working alongside Glencar, Peel Ports Group, and Finsa UK, we celebrated the start of construction on a 158,904 sq ft warehouse and timber-framed office—a project set to support Finsa UK’s operations and fuel their ambitious growth plans.
At Cara Construction, we’re excited to play a key role in this development. Our team is currently installing SW drainage, kerbs, and ACO systems, laying the groundwork for the yard slabs. With piling works now underway, excavation of the foundations is set to begin—another major milestone in bringing this vision to life.
Sustainability and innovation are at the core of this project, with features such as solar power to harness renewable energy, battery storage to optimise energy use and reduce waste, rainwater reuse for improved water sustainability, and sustainable timber construction to lower the carbon footprint using natural materials. This forward-thinking approach ensures long-term benefits for both the business and the local community.
We’re thrilled to be part of such an innovative, sustainable project and to work alongside industry-leading partners in shaping a greener future. A special thanks to our construction team for the warm welcome on site—we look forward to working together to bring this project to life
