Cara Brickwork have been awarded the Masonry package by Kier to build the Birley Residence accommodation blocks which range between 16, 11 & 6 storeys (491 student apartments) on the final plot of its £139m Birley Fields masterplan.

Preliminary masonry works started on site in June with the Main works to start in early August and lasting 48 weeks.

The package is Labour, Plant and Materials and consisting of the installation of the insulation, masonry support and brick slip lintels along with 3 styles of brick totalling in over ½ million.

This is the first scheme that Cara have secured with Kier in the North West for several years and hope to continue to build on this further.

The site, known as Plot E, sits close to the Hulme Arch on Stretford Road, the tallest elevation will overlook Princess Road.
