Cara Brickwork was awarded the labour, plant and materials package on the £16m development on the Wharton Green site in Winsford for @Equans_group.

Work started in May 2022 and lasted over a year and half, building 138 two, three and four bedroom affordable houses, including zero-carbon homes. We also made improvements to the local highway infrastructure and community open space.

Over 900,000 bricks were laid on this scheme, made up of two different types of bricks from @Forterrauk. It was successfully managed by the Cara Group site team to ensure timed delivery to the site when required 🧱🏗

We must give massive thanks to all the other suppliers who provided vital materials when needed. At its peak, the scheme included eleven gangs of bricklayers and we employed two apprentices from Warrington College 👷🏻

The site won several NHBC awards including scoring 100% on the NHBC CQR (Construction Quality Review).

Cara also provided ‘Have a Go Days’, for the local school which were arranged by Equans. We also contributed towards Easter Egg donations and arranged a food bank donation point on site with the donations being distributed locally. We also attended ‘Have a Go’ days at Styal Women’s prison.

Overall, it was an excellent project and we are very grateful to the community for getting involved!
