Cara Goes Royal

Cara Brickwork has been awarded the Masonry package for the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital by main contractor Carillion.


With a capital cost of some £335m over a 3 year period, this landmark project for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust


Cara’s contract, with a value of some £700,000, commenced in May and shall run till November.


When it is completed in 2017, the new hospital will be the largest in the country with 646 beds, including a 40-bed Critical Care Unit, 18 operating theatres and one of the largest emergency departments in the North West. The hospital will also be one of the ‘greenest’ in the country.
