Cara Group has completed a £2.1 million masonry package on ‘Phase 2’ of a £60million project for @Willmottdixon, known as Upperbanks in Rochdale Town Centre.
Cara Brickwork also undertook the masonry package for ‘Phase 1’, known as Rochdale Riverside, which is a retail and leisure development and home to a number of major retailers including M&S, H&M and River Island. It’s also home to leisure operators such as Puttstars and Reel Cinema.
‘Phase 2’ is a mix of high rise accommodation with 242 studio, one-bed and two-bed apartments all with balconies. This is all part of two nine- storey apartment blocks for private rent and a 146-room @hampton by @hilton in Rochdale Town Centre.
This scheme had over 400,000 bricks, made up of three different types of bricks from @taylormaxwellco and Brickstore, and over 200Lm of ACS masonry support. This was all procured by @WillmottDixon and successfully managed by the @caragroup_ site team to ensure timed delivery to the site when required 🧱🏗
Massive credit to all the other suppliers who provided vital materials when need. At its peak, the scheme included three site managers, two FLTs, three gangs of technicians, ten gangs of Bricklayers and three apprentices👷♂
Cara also provided ‘supervisor talks’ in Hopwood Hall College, built BBQs on site with the local teachers and donated Easter Eggs to the Willmott Dixon appeal. Overall, a brilliant project to be involved in.
