Cara secure another new Contract
CARA BRICKWORK LIMITED are delighted to announce we have successfully secured the masonry package on ‘Hughes House’, a £31m, 10-storey, low carbon apartments in the Fabric Quarter of Liverpool for Main Contractor EQUANS UK & Ireland.
The building, consisting of 258 apartments, is to be built on the site of the old TJ Hughes department store. Of the 258 apartments, 144 will have one bedroom, 99 will have two and 15 will be studios.
Designed by Architect The Keith Davidson Partnership, this project consists of 120,000 bricks of 3 different colours and over 870Lm of masonry support.
Hughes House is funded through a joint venture by housing association Home Group and BMO Real Estate Partners. The venture resulted in the BMO UK Housing Fund, which aims to accelerate the delivery of affordable homes for rent for key workers.
Masonry work starts in November and is to last for 35 weeks. Cara looks to take on 2 apprentices on this scheme and plan to work closely with local organisations to help young unemployed people get back into work.
