Cara Brickwork has secured the Masonry Package worth over £650k on the Bowmer & Kirkland “Tara House Scheme”.

Work has started on the Blockwork to the lower ground “Student communal areas” before we return in December for 18 weeks to complete the Brickwork to the façade.
The scheme in which Bristol-based Unite’s aim is to replace the car park with four blocks, the highest 12-storeys high, with shops on the ground level. Such is the spread of the site that on other sides it will sit next to the Dispensary pub on Oldham Street and the Roscoe Head on Roscoe Street.

Unite say the scheme would “act as a catalyst to the urban renewal in this part of Liverpool”.

It has commissioned Rio Architects to prepare the proposals, with a design and access statement in support of the application already completed.

The plan is to create clusters, with eight 4-bed, 220 5-bed, 90 6-bed, 63 7-bed, 152 8-bed, 9 -bed, 170 10-bed clusters as well as 78 studio flats.

The £35m project is planned to open in time for the 2017/18 academic year.
