Cara win masonry package on £60m project in Rochdale
Cara Brickwork have secured a £2.7m masonry package from Willmott Dixon for the creation of 242 brand new apartments (2 blocks) for rent and a Hampton by Hilton hotel in Rochdale town centre.
The £60m project, known as Upperbanks site is next to the new Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure development which Cara Brickwork undertook the masonry package for Willmott Dixon. ‘Phase 1’ opened last year and is home to a number of major retail names, including H&M, M&S and River Island, alongside leisure operators, including Puttstars and Reel Cinema.
Cara are due to start work early February and is due to last most of 2022. We aim to give a number of work experience, apprenticeships and job opportunities whilst working on the scheme.
Neil Allen (Contracts Director) quoted:- “This is great news for the company, the estimating team has worked really hard to get this over the line with Willmott Dixons site team. This goes to show that after the great work we have done on Phase 1, along with D’Uron Manor and the recently completed ‘Project Violet’ Wilmott Dixon can see the great work that we do together, not just by building the schemes but all the work that Cara do with employing apprentices/Kickstarter’s (government scheme getting local people back into work) and all the other CSR that we commit too”
