Engie awards Cara £16m Winsford Homes

Cara brickwork have been awarded the L,P&M masonry package on the £16m development on the Wharton Green site in Winsford for Engie.

Work starts early May and lasts over a year and half building 138 low carbon homes.

Engie, in partnership with housing providers QWest Homes, ForViva and Cheshire West and Chester Council, has started work on the brownfield site off Wharton Road.

The £16.2m project aims to create affordable zero-carbon new-build homes for Winsford. It comprises two, three- and four-bedroom homes, as well as improvements to local highway infrastructure and community open space.

The project is expected to complete in February 2023.

Neil Allen (Contracts Director) quoted: – “This is a great scheme to start a new relationship with a new client and we are really looking forward to starting the scheme. I have already been in talks with Warrington & Vale College to look at starting some apprentices which can complete the whole apprenticeship on the one scheme (on their doorsteps)”.
