Cara Brickwork and Cara Concrete Flooring have jointly secured the masonry and flooring packages on the new UTC for ISG
The £8.4 million build contract, as part of a £10 million investment to deliver a new University Technical College (UTC) in Warrington for the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) – the second phase of the town’s ambitious Stadium Quarter regeneration scheme.
ISG are already underway delivering phase one of the £190 million redevelopment master plan – an £8.5 million Business Incubator facility for Warrington Borough Council.
Cara Brickwork’s package consists of internal 100mm/140mm blockwork to all floors and is due to start mid March and last for a period of 8 weeks.
Cara Concrete Flooring Package consists over 4,500 m2 of Power Floated Flooring which first started with just the upper flooring contract, but after working closely with the ISG site team and the challenging program and site restrictions – Cara Flooring were also awarded the Ground Floor package.
ISG is an existing Client to Cara Brickwork (Whitworth Arty Gallery – Winning ‘Supreme Winner’ at the 2015 Brick Awards) but is a new client to the Cara Flooring Division which is a massive boost to show that collaboration between Internal Divisions does work and clients will listen to the guidance from our Experienced Teams to help deliver this project in a safe, timely manner to the agreed value.
Joey Allen, Cara Brickwork MD quoted:-
“This is a great ‘inside’ contract which we have worked close with ISG to win the Masonry as well as the Secondary Steelwork and scaffolding, along with Cara Concrete Flooring winning the flooring package this offers an ‘all in one package’ for ISG. Cara aim to deliver the works on time and within budget as usual.”
