CARA BRICKWORK LIMITED have some great news to start the year –

We are delighted to announce that our brickwork at Middlewood Locks (Phase Two) Scheme for BCEGI UK has been nominated for ‘Masonry Project of the Year’ at the The ABC Assessment Centre Ltd Awards 2023.

Following a successful partnership with BCEGI on Phase 1, Cara Brickwork were awarded the masonry contract on Phase 2 incorporating labour, plant and materials including secondary steelwork. The scheme consisted of four separate buildings providing 546 apartments with private podium gardens together with ground level parking and landscaped gardens adjoining the park space next to the canal.

Over 1 million bricks were laid by Cara Brickwork on the project, over a period of 65 weeks.

Contracts Manager Nick Mather, who worked as Site Manager on both Phase One and the nominated Phase Two, said:
“I am extremely proud to have been part of both phases one and two of the Middlewood Locks development for BCEGI. This was both a challenging and rewarding project in equal measures to be involved. It was made all the easier in no small part to the excellent BCEGI site management along with their design and architectural teams’ vision, the proactive supply chain partners and finally our own staff and sub-contractors.

“Middlewood Locks is something we should all be proud of, our collective efforts have delivered what can only be described as a fantastic and impressive addition to the Manchester skyline.”

We are all delighted with this exciting news, and it is an honor to be nominated alongside some other fantastic projects.

Good luck to all the other contractors nominated for awards and it should be a fantastic night!
