Overview

The Southport-bound side of the platform was demolished and replaced by new, low-energy and low-maintenance facilities. The new build includes a ticket office with space for a retail area, community police facilities, cycle storage and disabled-accessible toilets.

Remodelling work was also carried out to the car park, creating designated parking for staff, cars with blue badges and bicycles.

New access to the car park will be created off Shore Road, while the existing footbridge will also be refurbished to remove rust, add new paintwork and install a safer, slip-resistant floor covering.
