London Road
Overview
A 600mm diameter overland pump main became unstable due to the flooding of Poynton Brook basement which undermined the original pipe supports.
Cara Construction were contracted to construct a number of new pipe supports within the basement area and further protect the new supports by means constructing a gabion basket wall erected to contain the brook. Poynton brook was diverted using flume pipes including a fish rescue and relocation operation performed along the original brook bed.
Working inline with the land owner and land agent requests concerning livestock & permanent reinstatement the scheme was completed to a satisfactory standard for all stakeholders.
