Pear Tree Academy, a new SEND school for Prospere Learning Trust, will cater to 133 students aged 11-18 with severe learning difficulties and associated needs in Stockport. @weareahr designed this 35,000 sq ft facility, which includes single- and two-storey buildings with modern indoor classrooms, a forest school, outdoor learning areas, and a multi-use games area.
Cara Construction began with groundworks, tackling challenging foundation details, internal and external drainage, and preparing the ground floor slab to enable the structural steel phase. Once complete, Cara Brickwork took over, laying over 120,000 @wienerbergeruk bricks in two distinct styles ā āDorton Manor Multi Stockā and āGainsborough Multiā. Finally, Cara Landscape will complete the project with hard and soft landscaping.
Pear Tree High School represents a significant enhancement in local SEND provision, offering a transformative learning environment tailored to meet the needs of young people in the area. The state-of-the-art school also features water gardens, photovoltaic arrays, and other sustainable measures to achieve Net Zero Carbon in Operation (NZCIO) status.
Pear Tree Academy is Cara Groupās second project with Morgan Sindall this year, following the @newhouseacademy scheme in Heywood. Once again, the group demonstrates how its divisions work hand in hand to deliver exceptional results.
