Willmott Dixon has awarded the masonry package to Cara Brickwork for the new £27m Cheadle College project.
The scheme includes:
🏫 A new-build teaching facility
🤾🏼 Upgraded sports facilities
🏡 Redevelopment of part of the site into residential areas
Cara Brickwork will handle the masonry for the modern three-storey new-build, using over 100,000 iced grey Multi Facing bricks supplied by Lancashire Brick and Stone. This facility will feature resources for young people with SEND, specialist areas for T Levels in high-demand sectors like health, care, and education, and state-of-the-art laboratories to support the delivery of specialist academic and technical qualifications.
The Cara team is thrilled to reunite with the Cheadle site team, having built strong relationships on previous projects. We’ve already started collaborating with Becky Larner to arrange ‘work experience’ and ‘have a go days’ for Stockport College students. Plus, we’re excited to welcome two apprentices from the area to work on this scheme as part of our Future Skills Programme.
Work on the substructure begins this month, with the superstructure set to start in November. Keep an eye on our socials for more updates.
